After the Second World War, Vladimír Kubečka worked primarily as an urban planner in Zlín and Otrokovice, where he adopted the ideas of early Modernism and collaborated with the city’s leading architects, Vladimír Karfík, František Lýdie Gahura and Jiří Voženílek. His most famous work is the Central Shoe Storage in Zlín, which burnt at 9 July 2026. In 1970, following the Prague Spring, he was forced to leave his position with the construction company in Zlín.
